Before Jesus begun His ministry on earth, the Spirit of God led Him into the desert where He was tempted by the devil for forty days in which He fasted. Though we don’t know all the devil threw at Jesus in that time, we do know from Hebrews 4:15 that Jesus was tempted in every respect as we are, but without sin. In Luke 4 we see the last 3 temptations that were the culmination before the devil had ended every temptation, the same temptations Eve failed at in Eden and John speaks of in 1 John. Eve failed in Eden because when the devil threw her the dart of doubt- did God really say…? – she began to consider and reason instead of quickly rebutting him with the word God had said. In contrast, Jesus’ response in each case was quick and decisive like a master swordsman, It is written, said in reference to the scriptures as God’s revealed word. The devil found no way in with Jesus and left Him.
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. “(Heb.4:12)
When we as Christians put on the armor of God and use it correctly, we need not fear the attacks of the devil, rather he should fear us. Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail against us, the church that He builds. Stop seeing yourself as cowering before the enemy barely keeping afoot and start seeing yourself driving the enemy away as you raise the shield of faith and spar with the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God (Eph 6:17). The key is knowing what God says, believing it, and declaring it to be so here on earth and in your specific situation. In doing that, you unleash all authority Jesus has given you and the devil doesn’t stand a chance.
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.? (James 4:7)
Start changing your narrative today, REPLACING your thoughts with God’s thoughts. Such as:
- Contrary to anything you may have heard (like you were an accident), God specifically and uniquely designed every part of you and your life and loves you (Psalm 139)
- You have nothing to fear because He is with you always and the perfect love of God which is in Christ in you casts out all fear. (Is.41:10; 1 Jn. 4:18)
- When you confess your sin to God, He will forgive you and wipe the slate clean (1 Jn.1:9)
- God is not angry with you nor against you but has great plans for your life (Jer. 29:11-13)
- If you come to God when you feel tired or weak, He will give you new strength (Is.40:29-31)
- There is absolutely nothing physical or spiritual that can separate you from God’s love (Ro.8:31-39)
Read the scriptures above and pray them, declaring them to be your reality. God said it and it is so.
Día 16: Conviértate en un maestro espadachín
Antes de que Jesús comenzara Su ministerio en la tierra, el Espíritu de Dios lo llevó al desierto donde fue tentado por el diablo durante cuarenta días en los que ayunó. Aunque no sabemos todo lo que el diablo arrojó a Jesús en ese tiempo, sí sabemos por Hebreos 4:15 que Jesús fue tentado en todos los aspectos como nosotros, pero sin pecado. En Lucas 4 vemos las últimas 3 tentaciones que fueron la culminación antes de que el diablo hubiera terminado con cada tentación, las mismas tentaciones en las que Eva falló en el Edén y Juan habla en 1 Juan. Eva fracasó en el Edén porque cuando el diablo le lanzó el dardo de la duda, ¿realmente dijo Dios…? – ella comenzó a considerar y razonar en lugar de refutarlo rápidamente con la palabra que Dios había dicho. En contraste, la respuesta de Jesús en cada caso fue rápida y decisiva como un maestro espadachín, está escrito, dicho en referencia a las Escrituras como la palabra revelada de Dios. El diablo no encontró entrada con Jesús y lo dejó.
“Porque la Palabra de Dios es viva y eficaz, y más penetrante que toda espada de dos filos. Penetra hasta partir el alma y el espíritu, las coyunturas y los tuétanos, y discierne los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón. ” (Heb.4:12)
Cuando nosotros, como cristianos, nos ponemos la armadura de Dios y la usamos correctamente, no debemos temer los ataques del diablo, sino que él debe temernos a nosotros. Jesús dijo que las puertas del infierno no prevalecerán contra nosotros, la iglesia que Él edifica. Deja de verte a ti mismo acobardado ante el enemigo que apenas te mantienes a pie y comienza a verte a ti mismo ahuyentando al enemigo al levantar el escudo de la fe y luchar con la espada del Espíritu que es la palabra de Dios (Efesios 6:17). La clave es saber lo que Dios dice, creerlo y declararlo que así sea aquí en la tierra y en tu situación específica. Al hacer eso, liberas toda la autoridad que Jesús te ha dado y el diablo no tiene ninguna oportunidad.
“Por lo tanto, sométanse a Dios. Resiste al diablo y él huirá de ti. (Santiago 4:7)
Comience a cambiar tu narrativa hoy, REEMPLAZANDO tus pensamientos con los pensamientos de Dios. Como:
- Contrario a cualquier cosa que hayas escuchado (como decir que fuiste un accidente), Dios diseñó específica y únicamente cada parte de ti y de tu vida y te ama (Salmo 139)
- No tienes nada que temer porque Él está contigo siempre y el amor perfecto de Dios que está en Cristo en ti expulsa todo temor. (Is.41:10; 1 Jn. 4:18)
- Cuando confieses tu pecado a Dios, Él te perdonará y limpiará como nuevo (1 Jn.1:9)
- Dios no está enojado contigo ni está en tu contra, sino que tiene grandes planes para tu vida (Jer. 29:11-13)
- Si vienes a Dios cuando te sientes cansado o débil, Él te dará nueva fuerza (Is.40:29-31)
- No hay absolutamente nada físico o espiritual que pueda separarte del amor de Dios (Ro.8:31-39)
Lee las Escrituras anteriores y ora declarando que son la realidad en tu vida. Dios lo dijo y así es.
